The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

With Batman, it's a never ending battle, just like with Superman. He'll fight till he's an old man and can't fight anymore. And even then he might do things behind the scenes (like in Batman Beyond). And remember in Kingdom Come? When his body couldn't go on, he used robots and Bat armor. In the original Dark Knight Returns even though he had to stop being Batman he was still involved in building an army to replace him.

I could almost see it ending with him encountering Jason Todd for the first time, and deciding to train him. Basically he fully accepts his role as Batman, and decides to pass on what he has learned throughout the trilogy to someone else. And if they are going to incorporate any Robin into the series, I think Jason Todd's story would fit in the best.

Nolan has let it be known, in no uncertain terms, that Robin would never appear in a Batman movie made by him. In any way shape or form.

Oh, never mind then I guess. But, you could get away with that by having him just be Jason and never actually become Robin.

The Reboot movie may even take it's queues from The Amazing Spiderman.
Strictly using actual comic book titles for the movie title.
I could see the reboot movie using something like: Shadow of the Bat or Gotham Knights as a title.

Gotham Knights as a title.

Gotham Knights for when they get to doing Batgirl and Robin proper justice in the 2nd reboot.

Nolan leaving out Robin in his trilogy is just begging for the next set of movies to use him.

Just like how the new spider-man movie is using Peter Parker's parents when Raimi mostly ignored them.

Dark Victory would be a good source material for them if they introduce Dick Grayson in the reboot films. It's probably my favorite depiction of Robin's origin and it's a great emotional story for both Bruce (who has suddenly have to realize he has become a parent) and for Dick who is like Bruce after he lost his parents.

After Nolan's done I wonder if I'll feel complete indifference and apathy over the next Batman reboot as I do over the upcoming Spider-Man reboot?

I'm pretty excited over the idea of a new take. I've seen the camp Batman of the 60s. The weird Tim Burton take. The neon color Schumacher take. And the quasi-real Batman of the Nolan films. I'm ready for a new take. Something a little more fantastic than the Nolan stuff, but not as weird as the Burton stuff. A take that would allow for the psychological realism but could still include characters like Killer Croc and Manbat. Maybe something in the style of Sin City.

Perhaps a 1930's feel but with 2014 tech. Similar to how BTAS had old police cars but had computers.

Yes please.

I've always liked Batman: Dead End, particularly the costume. It really looks like Batman of the comics. And Batman looks like he stepped right out of an Alex Ross painting. :techman:
