The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

A point that has been noticed about the trailer.

Bane's voice has been cleared up(thanks to WB)

Perhaps it's a little too clear. A bit too much ADR now.

It doesn't even sound like the head gear is blocking his voice.

His voice now sounds disembodied like it's far away from him

I think all of the dialogue sounded disembodied-- because it is. We're hearing it without the rest of the soundmix the actual movie will have, and it's a little weird.

It simply sounds to me like his voice is being processed and amplified through the head gear. Which seems like a perfectly reasonable thing for it to do.

And if it DOES sound a bit more disembodied, all the better. Just makes him a little more scary and intimidating that way.

I agree. The voice does make him sound scarier. It's an interesting contrast to the Joker's high-pitched manic voice in TDK. Both are scary but in different ways.

Holy... That was awesome.

Poor AVENGERS, they will be completely forgotten once this one hits theaters...

Now the question is, which film will be the event movie of the year?
- Nolan's Batman finale
- or Scott's Alien prequel
Cannot wait.

Neither. Skyfall will be the event movie of the year. A true Bond classic for 007's cinematic 50th anniversary celebration. That's my hope anyway.

And the thrilling joy ride of the Avengers will be fondly remembered for many years to come as part of the Greatest Summer of Movies Ever (even better than '82).

Me too. IMO it also makes him seem more mysterious and inhuman, which is perfect for this kind of a character in this kind of movie.
Oh, and I forgot to mention before, that now that we've seen more of Anne Hathaway's Catwoman I'm not longer nervous, she looks great.

Nothing against JGL, but isn't he a bit puny to be Batman? I mean, at that point you might as well get an actual bat.

In the 2nd trailer Bane sounded more menacing

You could tell that the mouth piece was blocking his voice from sounding normal.

Now it's like the mouth piece doesn't even exist. There's no obstruction.

They can't win. Either it's realistically obstructed and it sounds muffled so you can't understand him, or it's clear but loses some of the realism.

As for me, since it's a movie anyway, I'd rather be able to tell what he's saying.(although I understood him in trailer #2 as well, but I DID have a hard time understanding him in that five-minute intro plane scene.)

Well yeah that was

1. A bootleg version of the opening scene/prologue

2. Bane's voice in the prologue was the 2nd time we heard him. Before that, Nolan had no idea that the voice was at times hard to understand.

BTW the first time people heard bane was at the Heinz Stadium shoot

You could call this "Bane 1.0"

I was there for the Heinz Field shoot.

He sounded like an old, wheezing British guy. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting Bane to sound like. I've become acclimated to the voice, though, and I think it sounded great in the latest trailer.

I'm pretty sure the way he sounded on the day of shooting was never inteded to be the way he would sound in the film. With that mask over Hardy's mouth it is very easy to change during post-production (and probably even necessary).

There is a shot of Gordon-Levitt earlier, and the mouth is the same as the mouth in the cowl.

Get your eyes checked. Bale is obviously the dude in the suit in every shot of that trailer.

It actually goes to show just how useless the Bat-cowl is for hiding Bruce's identity.

well it is if you know what you're looking for and already know Bruce Wayne's face pretty well.

The voice at Heinz was Darth Farmer.
