The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

Well Bane's first leaked dialogue was "Gotham, Take control of you're city"

Hmm. That's still not really indicative of a connection between him and the Occupy movement, assuming that Nolan has actually incorporated it into the film, either literally or symbolically, which is what Selina's dialogue in the trailer seems to indicate He (Bane) could simply be attempting to do what the Joker did during the climax of The Dark Knight, only using the anger and frustration that gave birth to the Occupy movement (if it is actually incorporated into the film) as a tool instead of fear and prejudice the way the Joker did.

Ah yeah it's peeve of mine too

Also here is the set footage at Heinz field again. Make of it what you will

I think the Occupy movement is just part of the viral marketing campaign for TDKR.

Brilliant!

Seriously though, the theme of poor people rising up and taking out the rich is very old. The French and Russian Revolutions featured this theme well before people decided to camp out in city parks this year.

The film will have nothing to do with the Occupy movement. Nolan was just considering taking some footage of the event to use in the film but, according to Matthew Modine who is in the film: "The wisdom of Christopher Nolan and his incredible team was that, while it seemed like a good idea to give [the protestors] an opportunity for work, to give them money, it would send a terrible message. At the end of the day, we're making a movie. What's happening down there is more important than that. To co-opt what's happening there and around the country… we didn't want to trivialize it. It was more important to respect what they're doing than to do anything that could potentially trivialize the political situation downtown."

maybe nothing to do with the actual OWS movement, but the sentiments Selina Kyle was expressing in the trailer seem awfully familiar...

as TDK contained some pretty relevant political themes regarding terrorism and security I suspect that TDKR will have some relevant political stuff too.

I also think we could see Juno Temple's character in that prision. I believe she's supposed to be playing a "street urchin".
Holly Robinson, perhaps? We do have Selina after all, and from what I've seen of stories featuring Selina, Holly is usually around somewhere too.

Yeah that has been the speculation so far. Especially since we learned a few months ago that Selina will have her "Year One" back story.

^The PG-13 version of her "Year One" backstory. In the comic she's a prostitute, but the film version is a stripper (I think they mentioned that in one of the official releases).

Don't start talking about potatoes in this thread, too! We all saw how that went in The Hobbit thread!
