The Dark Knight dvd thread

^ I can definitely agree with that. For a Warner transfer it's good, but it's not as good as the best stuff from Disney, Sony or Fox.

No. The only DVD with Digital Version I've heard of in the UK is the X Files: I Want To Believe 2 disc Director's Cut.
There's one the 2-disc version of I Am Legend too I have. Though not owning an iPod I have zero plans to ever use it.
I also saw one on the 2-disc The Happening and Hancock DVDs too

I noticed the same thing whilst watching the movie in the cinema, but is it just me or does the musical score and sound effects really drown out the voices? Im constantly having to adjust the volume. Somewhat annoying.

I'm in my Cisco 1 class final right now. I promised myself that I would hold out till all my finals were done.

After the test i'm off to Walmart! I hope I don't get disappointed that its sold out considering the dvd sales.

Which post are you replying to?

I had the same thing, too. It goes from really quiet to REALLY LOUD during any sort of action. It's possible some DVD's could be mixed wrong, but I'm guessing they're actually mixed right...for 5.1 surround, and if you don't have that and it's all forced to two or three speakers it fucks up the mix.

I've the same problem. Talking scenes are really quiet so I have to turn it up and then and action scene comes up and I've got to turn it back down again.

Are you guys (that are having problems with the audio) using the regular DD 5.1 track of the TrueHD track?

yes! thats what i'm noticing too. I can't even put the amplifier volume pass 16 or its gets so loud you just want to turn off the movie.

One spot I noticed was "stay hidden" when Bruce drags harvey.

The this huge DUM! DUM! DUM!

to quote Alfred "I'm not sure you made it loud enough"

The regular DD 5.1 Track for me. Like I said, i noticed the same problem during my cinematic viewing. It is especially noticeable during the films final scene when the score is so loud it almost makes the voices mute.

Can't say I noticed this problem in either the cinema or at home. But I can see that people who don't have the full 5.1 setup and just two or three speakers could find problems. I used to get that all the time before I upgraded to full 5.1.

I got the one disk dvd and got the little flyer for the digital copy. I'm cheap so i'm not going to get the digital copy :)

But I do have the full 5.1 setup.

I got the 1 disc widescreen version since I heard from many online reviews that the 2 disc extras are crap. If Warners isn't even going to bother making good dvd extras then I won't be spending more money. The Iron Man SE dvd is loaded with features so I had no regets getting that. Oh well.

Can't see what it can be then. I was replying to the people who said they don't have 5.1. I haven't noticed any problem with the mix, even though the score is loud I can still hear people (there is one moment near the start where the guys are in the car and the dialogue isn't clear, but that's it).
