^ No. Missed out on that one. :wah:

Although, metal-wise, some people say that in the present time, I look like Rob Halford. :alienblush:

I'd really like to take some classes, really. I've just gotten this urge over the last month to learn how to dance. I'm not sure what sort of dance, but I just feel like I'd enjoy it now.

Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance!!!

Dance teachers be damned. This is what it's all about:

It wasn't until I saw a recent TV documentary about the 90th anniversary of the RSCDS that I suddenly had a resurgence of feeling towards Scottish dancing, and in particular to the dancing that I thought I had left behind and forgotten way back then. I really want to take it up again some day - not just the rough and ready ceilidh party dancing with the Strip the Willow and Military Two-Step and Eightsome Reel and other things that everyone knows and loves, but the actual formal stuff with the black pumps and kilts and full Highland dress and pas de Basque (so that's how you spell it ;)) and everything.

Also, the music. Once I find the time, I want to dust off my violin and rejoin a Strathspey & Reel music group again. I still have my old music manuscripts somewhere.

Actually, let's go one step further. We need to start a TrekBBS Ceilidh.

This made the Facebook rounds not long ago, and it's really great:

That is fantastic. :bolian:

Do I dance?

No. I might make an exception for slow dances though:)

^^^ I'm no good at slow dancing. Maybe I need more practice.

There's no need to be "good" at slow dancing, as such. As anyone who went to high school in the 80's knows: all that is required is just rocking back and forth slowly while squeezing someone. That's the only slow dancing that matters. :)

Some amazing belly dancing. The drumming is excellent, too.

I never learned how to dance - being a musician I was always on the opposite side of the ballroom than the dancers ;)
I'm a charter member of the local square dance club, but I don't think that actually counts as dancing (LOL now I'll be getting death threats from square dancers all over the world :D)
