The CW?

Maybe he meant dog years?

Poor Admiral Archer's prize beagle. :(

"A two-year break might be the best thing for the Star Trek franchise, said Viacom co-president Leslie Moonves at the winter press tour for CBS and UPN in Hollywood."

That article is from 2005, and while he did say that, it has been nearly 10 years.

LOL. Translation: "I'm just going to pull some random break-time out of my ass to justify canceling ENTERPRISE for this reporter I'm talking to, and I really don't give a shit whether Star Trek ever comes back to television or not."

Exactly. It was a way to get out of laying down any concrete plan on when Star Trek would return. If they were serious, then there could have been a series come and gone by now, but of course there's nothing, because there was no intent to have anything. IMO, of course.

The CW is partially owned by CBS. So I'd imagine their CEO would be one of the first to know if Trek was coming back. Since he said nothing was on the horizon, I tend to believe him.

Eh, to be honest, I really have no idea what the CEO of a subsidiary would know about the goings-on in the parent company that weren't his business as far as the parent company's executives were concerned, no matter how much of a fan he is. I wasn't expecting him to probably know anything.

The CW seems like the most likely outlet for such a show based on their current programming. Plus, I'm sure that the CEO of CW would have connections throughout Hollywood, including CBS.

So I still tend to think he would be "in the know" if Star Trek was coming back to TV.

Starfleet Academy...? :(

Starfleet academy will be better of fox not cw, cw will make it too teeny bopper. I have read the recent Starfleet academy books like the assassination game and the Gemini agent and the books were great. it had all the makings of a great tv show. action, romance, drama, themes and so on but I will prefer it on fox and not on the cw.

^The ONLY channels a Star Trek show can be on are the CW, CBS, and Showtime-so it's either those outlets, or no go.

And as Starfleet Academy is made up of teens (18-20 age range), you'll most likely be getting teen and twentysomething actors cast in such a series. Tone down your dislike of young people there, Grandfather.
