I just saw an episode on TV, Destiny, where Kira finally tells Sisco that she believes that he is the Emissary, I think this takes place in Season Three. In this episode, the Emissary related scenes were actually the most interesting, although the O'Brien scenes with the female Cardassian were amusing. I think that the whole Emissary business could have been more compelling in the last couple of seasons. The writers seems to lose their trains of thought after awhile and didn't know quite where to go with it. It was definitely an interesting concept making Sisco the Emissary, as Star Trek in general didn't do religion much and when they did, religious folks were portrayed as crazy fanatics. Though, I remember one episode in the original series where Kirk et all learned that who they thought were some backwards "sun" worshipers were actually "Son" worshipers. In the last couple of seasons, it became confusing, his being the Emissary and what ithe Prophets wanted from him, and I don't think that they knew quite where to go with it and so turned it into a "Jesus" thing where he would one day return.
