The premise was good and the acting was good but it kind of left me cold. Too derivative of so many alien invasion stories. I guess I'm getting tired of the genre. Still I like cast and I like Cuse's post Lost shows so I'll stick with it.
Automatic Vehicle Location (such as what's used in LoJack). You'd expect (I mean truly believe) a Homeland Security car to have it, and, to really spell it out, you'd expect software to automatically log everywhere the car goes. There's no logical reason why they haven't outed the guy who makes fake IDs, and no logical reason why the guy who makes fake IDs shouldn't have known he was being outed.I don't know what AVL is.
GPS and satellites are not required. Various radio-based technologies could be used as fall-backs, if for whatever reason the aliens didn't provide the collaborators with some form of GPS. Besides that, the aliens would have simply look-down capability.Would the satellites these AVL systems use still be operational?

There was an interesting bit when they were getting the fake ID's for Carlos's family.. the guy is using dead people for the fake ID's and he casually mentions they have better fake ID systems now than when he made them for Sawyer's family. So they have some mystery about who they all were and how they got to where they are now.
Los Angeles had defenses? They did mention a little more about the invasion this episode, saying the aliens took out LA's defenses in 8 hours. Interesting shots of the damage to the downtown skyscrapers.
got me? just going by what the woman boss said in the episode.Los Angeles had defenses?
