Spoilers The Clone Wars - Season 7 Discussion [SPOILERS]

Most of the rest of the episode seems as it was with the only little addition I noticed being a fyrnock creeping around their campsite, which is a neat bit of retroactive continuity! ;)

Is this the base that's eventually abandoned in the Rebels S1 episode, "Out of Darkness"?

Yeah, the trivia section of the official episode guide for the Rebels episode straight-up calls it "Fort Anaxes". Plus, just look at it; they seem to have just redressed the existing TCW assets.

As to what happened to the planet to turn it into an asteroid field...that's yet to be accounted for. Could be a natural disaster; I mean everything on that world (flora included) seems to be fairly brittle and crystal-like, so maybe the fighting over the shipyard somehow managed to cause the planet to break up. Maybe it's a result of over-mining by said shipyards. Or maybe the planet core had a lot of kyber in it and Tarkin had the whole thing minded out like Iilum.

Early weapons test perhaps. Or someone later set them up the bomb, and blew the place up (terrorist against the Empire, maybe)

Judging by all of the clone wars era equipment still present, it seemed to have happened either during the war or fairly shortly after. The Empire upgraded a lot of it's gear fairly quickly, as evidenced by the 'Ahsoka' novel and 'Jedi Fallen Order'.

Has anyone out there heard whether they'll be releasing a complete set (seasons 1-7) for home release?

I've liked both of these episodes a lot. I liked the clone focused stories in TCW, and Rex is a good character. The bad batch are pretty interesting, if not the most original characters. I hope that this season keeps this kind of momentum up throughout the whole run.
I think you're probably going to hate the last story arc.
*sighs*

This isn't the hill I want to die so I'll just leave it at this. I am for people being people in lots of different contexts. I don't think in an animated kids show that is is necessary nor appropriate.
Clone Wars isn't really a kids show any more, I think they kind of crossed that line when we started getting lightsaber decapitations. It's rated TV-PG, while kids shows have either a TV-Y or TV-Y7 rating.

Clone Wars was aimed, basically at 10 to 12 year olds for the first year or two, than they upped it to teens, as they expected the audience to be growing up with the show. By now (or the equivalent to now in the show's season list), the audience should be high school seniors and young college students.

Didn't notice any significant additions to this one, but it was pretty much wall-to-wall action so that's to be expected. They did however cut out a scene where Wat Tambor demonstrates the lightning ball thing on a native to goad Anakin into surrender. It's a wise cut since they escape from the thing in the very next scene and it's never seen or mentioned again. Plus you don't really need to spell out how nasty it is since the implication that it's lethal is quite sufficient.

The fortune cookie was different again though and again, it's changed from an abstract to a more personally significant one.

I think you're probably going to hate the last story arc.

If you're talking about The Siege of Mandalore, I'll be fine. The shitty Duchess is long dead by this point of the show, and I just count the TCW, Rebels and Mandalorian mandos as three completely different groups of people (because they are, they basically share nothing in common except similar armor). The real Mandalorians (aka the Legends ones as written by Karen Traviss) will always be THE Mandos in my opinion, but I can deal with the various Filoni mandalorians well enough at this point.

I mean, when the Mandalorians are literally a completely culture different every time they show up in canon, it kind of just becomes a game of seeing what their culture will be this time (and I say this as someone who did really enjoy The Mandalorian). Anyway, the worst version of the Mandalorians died when the moronic duchess was killed, and they were the group I had the biggest issue with.

In the end, TSoM arc seems to be more about Darth Maul and Ashoka anyway, and I like Maul and really, really like Ahsoka, so its not really an issue for me. It will probably be the best arc related to the TCW mandalorians.

They fly now?
I don't think we've ever seen those droids before.
This one was probably the weakest of the three we've gotten so far, it was pretty much all action, without a lot of story. It was great action so I did enjoy it, just not as much as the first two.

Enjoy the battle sequence at the end of the most recent episode but really disappointed and annoyed that Disney is editing and toning down The Clone Wars. They can't keep their hands out of anything.

How are they toning it down?

Yeah, I haven't noticed any toning down.
The episode are still TV-PG, which is the same rating it had at the end of the TV seasons.
