So if Mrs. Flood already knew what a TARDIS is, I guess she was just harassing Abdul to move it because she’s being an awful person? (Unless she thinks Abdul is a Time Lord, for some reason.)
My interpretation was she didn't realize it was a TARDIS until the scene where she first sees it dematerialize, prior to that she thought it was an ordinary police box.

I've seen various theories that Flood is variously the Rani, Romana, Susan Foreman, Dodo Chaplet, Polly and even River Song. I just don't think we have enough information to place a bet on any (or none) of these. As to whether she's Ruby's mother, that seem unlikely as the character is too old, and if she's old Ruby, why does she still exist in the alternate timeline where Ruby is abducted as a baby? RTD noted the TARDIS blue colour of her front door, so that she's a time lord does seem possible.

Not quite as good as the specials but yes very entertaining.

Light on plot, which isn't unusual for an RTD episode introducing a new doctor or companion but that gave us plenty of time to get to know the new team.

Ncuti lived up to the promise of the special and I really liked Ruby. Other than Donna and Wilf I haven't been particularly fond of any of the modern companions but she came over really well here.

A good start and lots to look forward to from the looks of the trailer.

She's the Doctor, the house is her TARDIS. ;)
Why did she go from being a grumpy old woman to friendly? Mind you, the first (onscreen) doctor could be a right old curmudgeon. Another theory is that she's the doctor's daughter based on no evidence, as far as I can tell. The name Flood could be significant, but it's likely misdirection (or a tribute to the late actor Gerald Flood, who played Kamelion and King John).

The only flood in the forest is the river?

As a side-note, on her being too old to be Ruby's mother, that ignores that she could have both time-travelled, or be Ruby's grand-mother. And that also technically she's not too old, for that matter. So all options are on the table, and her changing her mind after her past self sees the TARDIS by the church is still valid. With all the talk about coincidences, I'd like to think it was semi-intentional that we should imagine all of those (I wouldn't call it a misdirection if a theory intentionally fits here but isn't true, since what was on-screen seems too open to a multitude anyway, it's all mystery and no direction)

Googling Vizsla and Doctor Who just comes up with memes of Peter Davison talking to cute doggos.

There's nothing on TARDIS Wiki either.

Can you be more specific? Or are you thinking of Vislor Turlough?

Vizsla (not Vislor) is a family name of Mandalorians in Star Wars (another Disney property).

In one scene in The Church on Ruby Road, one of the Goblins is reaching down to unplug some cables, doing their mischief, and his hand passes some rack-mounted audio gear that is labeled "Vizsla".

It's around the 4:20 mark of the episode.

I'd post a screen cap, but I don't know how on this board.

I just found it a curious little cross-brand Easter egg.

Yeah, I knew of the Mandalorian name, but wasn't sure RTD would have gone with it as a reference - the Disney connection makes it feasible I suppose.

With RTD, more likely to be setup for something later - we got Magpie Electricals stuff before the ep with the Wire...

Its a nice episode and fun start for this Doctor. And unfortunately that's also a criticism since that's all it was. I enjoyed it and the Goblins were fun. Just felt we've done these introduction episodes already. They need to spice things up, throw a spanner in the works for how they introduce new companions and Doctors.

Ruby is the Timeless Child, who grows up to be the Master when she's raised by Tecteun, so the Doctor stole her and chameleon arched her to have her live as a human, but then Ruby finds the Fob Watch with all the memories she avoided and turns into Missy, half Master, half, um, Not-Quite-As-Evil Master. Since the Toymaker was nonspecific about the timing, it's revealed the gold tooth Master is the one from the TV movie. Not Eric Roberts, the one who got zapped a cage.
Yes, I also enjoy drinking from the morning on Christmas day.

As for the mystery itself, I'm mildly curious about it. However, after so many companions tied into bigger mysteries, and I know I've been saying this for nearly two decades, I long for the days when The Doctor simply runs into a companion and they have grand adventures in all of time and space without a giant axe hanging over them. To be clear, I feel that this is the fault of all of the modern showrunners, although I think Chibnall did handle this the best...I just wish Yaz had been better utilized.
I'm fully onboard with you now. I was OK with it before but just bored by it now. Even the name Ruby Sunday screams mystery. I had my fill with River Song.

Or it was just a fourth wall breaking gag scene.
Could be. The 1st Doctor did the same thing in a Christmas themed episode.

So, to me this was basically a 3/10 special that Ncuti dragged kicking and screaming to a 6/10. Seriously, he holds this entire special on his back like Atlas, the script by itself is among the worst Christmas specials. Even ignoring the song the goblins were lame and were really not Doctor Who creatures, and their convoluted motivations barely made any sense.

But Ncuti was really good, much better then the material they gave him this episode, and Ruby is ok, I'd put her above early Rose or Martha just based on this episode. I'm excited for their season to start, while also hoping that RTD doesn't personally write many episodes next season, he's been really hit or miss in this return when it comes to writing.

For me it was about a 1.5 out of 10, and Ncuti dragged it up to a 4 out of 10.

I am really not at all impressed with RTD_Who V.2.0.

I liked the first half of Giggle and that was about it.
