This theatrical trailer for Star Trek V has me rolling in the floor. I wonder if Paramount realized that they had a bomb on their hands at the time this was put together, hence the use of James Horner's exciting adventure music from Star Trek II? I know it is an early trailer and that things weren't finished, but you still have to wonder. This is a great trailer, chock full of great special effects from other movies. It shows many moments from the film that deceive us into thinking something interesting is going on, and above all else, paints the picture of a non-stop, action-packed film! A favorite moment comes when the narrator says "Only one crew dare to travel where no man has gone before", yet it shows a clip of a boiling pot of sludge that we know was actually used as the watercolor cloud tank to make the Great Barrier. The funny part? You can hear a bubbling sound accompanying the shot! Only one crew dares to travel to the boiling pot of sludge!!
Oddly enough, the same clip is used in trailer number 2 http://youtube.com/watch?v=LurjQE3g24Q, as the narrator calls it the "center of the universe". You can still hear the bubbling noise! Sit back and laugh at the trailer, for it is highly entertaining. Remember, "The greatest 'Enterprise' of all is ADVENTURE!"
