Heck, in the original miniseries, the Captain's Table even included captains from fiction, like a Disneyesque version of Captain Nemo in Where Sea Meets Sky. So I'm sure people from parallel timelines would've been fair game as well.

There's even--but I'm reaonably sure it's unintentional--there's even a moment in War Dragons were Sulu meets Captain Barbossa, from Pirates of the Caribbean!

(Well...it's an older man with a big beard...an oversize hat...and a "furry creature" on his shoulder....)
