The Cage 7.1 soundtrack question

Is it just me or does the 7.1 soundtrack on the Blu-ray sound very stifled for the cage episode? I am of course referring to the remastered version with the new special effects. During the opening credits when the Enterprise flies by there seems to be no surround activity at all.

I wonder if they used the raw cleaned-up soundtrack and thus did not re-instate the 'swooshes' as the Enterprise passes by?
