The bridge shots (large images)

First impressions everyone?
Me?
It seems to be very crowded and cluttered, not feelin it right now. Of course I'll have to see later but as of the moment, not a fan

Re: The bridge shots

I'm neutral on the bridge right now, but leaning a bit towards a thumbs-down. It seems a bit too busy; it is supposed to be a command and control center, though, so I guess busy is a correct adjective for it.

Re: The bridge shots

I'll repeat what I said before.

Yes it's different, VERY different but hopefully that will make it a success. As long as the Core of Trek, that which made me a fan in the first place is the same I will buy it despite its different appearance.

Re: The bridge shots

I'm Shocked! Shocked! This film looks like it was made in 2008 not 1968.

I rather like it, but I'm sure there'll be a vocal contingent that despises it.

Re: The bridge shots

I'm on the fence. The bridge shot reminds me of Galaxy Quest crossed with the New Lost in Space.

Re: The bridge shots

VERY WHITE.

That's my first impression. My second impression is, what the heck is that consol thing? It looks like nothing I've ever seen in any version of Trek.

WHERE IS THE DIRT I WAS PROMISED DIRT.

Well, the Enterprise at this point is supposedly brand-spankin' new. Probably see more dirt on the Kelvin.

As to my impressions of the bridge, overall I really like it. Not a big fan of the plexiglass circuit boards, but that's minor. Has a feel very much like that of the bridge from ST IV. I'm really wondering what's up with those joystick-looking things on the Yeoman's desk, if that's what it is.

Re: The bridge shots

I'M BOYCOTTING BECAUSE OF THE DIRT AND LACK OF SHOUTING!!!

Re: The bridge shots

I guess we at least don't have to worry about the ship being dark and dirty. Shiney. :D

Barcode readers.

EXACTLY!! How many people were saying because its a reboot, it will be dark and moody?

Now everyone says it too bright.

Re: The bridge shots

Well, I still want to see more, but this bridge really looks incredible. To me, is seems to be a viable evolution of the NX-01 bridge, given 100 years for technological changes (and I'm sure that comment will probably bring me some flack).

I can't wait to see more.

Re: The bridge shots

I don't care for it. How come every one gets chairs except for the lady at the console? That's not Uhura is it?

Where's the turbo lift? Is that the entrance just to the right of the console? Wonder if there will be more than one lift?

The few pics we see of Kirk, he's wearing all black, is that some type of new Captain's color?

The uniforms looks pretty decent, close to the originals but with an updated feel to it.

Sorry, but the bridge looks just too "cartoony" for me. I'd like to see more shots, though.

Re: The bridge shots

Eh... Way too busy... Kind of reminds me of Galaxy Quest, actually. As closely as he stuck to the uniforms, I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the bridge.

Eh... I can't say I really expected them to stick too close to the TOS interiors, other than in basic set-up. Many of the TOS sets and props looked cheap, blocky, and non-functional. I'm not 100% ecstatic, but I like it a lot more than other possible directions they could've gone. I'll wait to see a full-on shot of the bridge in working motion before I pass final judgment, but so far I'm pleased. :)

Re: The bridge shots

I think it's so-so. Like many others I think it's too white with too much what looks like glass.

I just want to make sure that people know that just because some people think this bridge looks a bit off doesn't mean we're some sort of Star Trek Fundamentalists or anything. I'm sure some will be be puritans about it, but we've already had about 3 or 4 of those mocking " OMfG!!1111 THIS IS NOT CANIN1111111111" posts. That's a straw man.
