The bridge design you prefer

I hate Voyager's bridge, too wide from side to side, most of it seems pretty useless, and it almost looks like the captain's chair is not in the center. The chair next to her is so far away that she has to lean awkwardly to whisper anything to her first officer. Plus because it's so big, the gray color becomes too bland. Mainly I hate how wide it is from side to side. Definitey the bridge I hate most.

I'm not sure if this makes any sense, but one of my least preferred bridges is the E-D (series) and one of my favorites is the E-D (Generations). If only that bridge had survived the movie (screw the rest of the ship)! :)

I may get flashmobbed for this, but Ryan Church's bridge is my favorite:

Minus the lens flares and blindingly bright lights, which were added later.

Thankfully, this one is NOT my favorite:

I would have to say the Defiant's bridge. Its practical and well thought out, though still comfortable for the crew of a warship (no one needs to stand).

I also like the E-D bridge from Generations, why they didn't give Worf a chair and the extra side consoles at somepoint during the series baffles me, it actually makes it look like a functionally command facility.

Third place would go the E-A bridge from TUC. Not really sure why, but its a style that I really quite like with the combination of real buttons and touchpads, the blue and green displays.

I don't want counselors to have chairs on the bridge. I don't want execs to sit next to the captain.

Perhaps the Jem'Hadar had the right idea - their ships' bridges have no chairs for anyone at all. Cuts down on laziness, eh? ;)

(You may ask, what happens if the ship gets tossed about, or the inertial dampeners fail. In the first instance: anyone who gets thrown to the floor can get back up again. And if the inertial systems don't work, everyone would be dead regardless of whether they were in a chair.)

I like the Original Series bridge. Its practical, functional plus its bright and vibrant compared to the more clinical bland looking bridges of the more recent series.

Defiant, because it makes sense. It's all about function, I like that. I remember reading on Doug Drexler's blog that he made sure every single button on every station has a 'function'. I like that.

Least favorite: Enterprise-D. Because it's a hotel-lounge, not a bridge.

1. NX Class Bridge
2. Constitution Class Bridge
3. Intrepid Class Bridge
4. Defiant Class Bridge
5. Prometheus Class Bridge

Wasn't he referring to NX-01 with that comment? Seeing as Defiant used Okudo-grams and had no "buttons".

Well yeah, Okuda-grams then. I'm 99% sure he was talking about the Defiant though....

Defiant by far had the best and most practical bridge of them all.

No it didn't. Putting the helm/op position directly in front of the commander's chair means the commander's view of the rather small main screen is obstructed. (It would have been much better to the two both side by side.)

Pfft, the captain doesn't need to see the viewscreen anyways. Rarely, if ever, is pertinent information displayed, just a forward view. He'd absorb more useful information by looking at the workstations to the left and right. The main viewer is there for the sake of the audience, nothing else.

Sisko never seemed to have a problem seeing the viewscreen when he was on the ship. And when we had his POV, we could also see it. That viewscreen was fairly large, comparatively speaking. It took up the whole front wall.
