The Borgias

He seemed more like a troglodyte to me, personality-wise. He was certainly conscious of his rank and position, but that just makes it all the more vital that he not be perceived as, well, less than vital. His behavior doesn't jibe with the mentality of the time for someone of his gender and rank. What he did was catastrophic for him personally and he should have known it. A little temporary embarrassment would have been nothing by comparison.

He should have turned the tables on the Borgias instead by

insisting that he is potent, but only with his lawful wife, and as a good moral Christian man, he of course refuses to have anything to do with prostitutes and is shocked at the Pope for suggesting such a thing. The demonstration must take place with Lucretiza or not at all.

How can the Pope argue against that? Checkmate! :rommie:

today on the history channel around 1pm ancient mysteries new investigations of the unsolved will be the episode "the curse of the borgias" an indepth look at the family of the show for those who are interested.

three episodes in the marathon and loving the series.

Because she is a courtesan and the Swartza putz is a prude who is overly concerned with honor. As for the ranting. Do you mean the Florentine priest?

What episode are you at? I have loved every episode but the last 3 episodes are particularly good.

EDIT. The Florentine priest is basically a proto protestant moralist who is railing against chirch corruption.

Well not till the second or third season but I hope so. Cesare is by far my favorite character and historically he is very interesting and important. More so than his Father or Brother.

have we seen his brother yet? all so would love to see eric flint 1632 series be made into a series.

By the second or third episode both of Cesare's brothers were introduced as well as his sister.

One of the brothers is the drunk womanizer who wears the gorgeous bronze armor. The other is the 13 year old boy that is running around their mothers estate.

thanks for that ^ . this has been a very good show so far half way through it.
I am going to start picking the books up on my nook.

well we have this one plan to watch the rest of the show tomarrow four episodes left and then the history channels special.
