The Big Yellow One Is The Sun!

My earliest memories involved memorable events, rather than vague things. One involved seeing a red squirrel getting run over by a London taxi, while the other involved me throwing tins of paint down the stairs, one of which was full and emptied its contents everywhere. :guffaw: I think I might have been 2 at the time.

I also have vague memories of what might have been the Protect and Survive public information films, but I'm not entirely sure.

I'm pretty sure I don't remember anything prior to age 6, and only then because there are photos documenting it.

The same here. My earliest memory that doesn't require photo refreshing would be about age 9 or 10.

I've had such thoughts myself.. especially when you consider the magnitudes of the universe.

For example a "normal" Gamma Ray burst expends as much energy in a few seconds as our sun produces in 10 billion years!:eek:

However more relatable experiences include going to sea.. if you ever have the possibility to go to sea, i.e. no land visible you won't regret it (excluding sea sickness or some other problem you might have with water such as your ship sinking). The vastness of the sea is something truly beautiful and a sunset on sea is spectacular (even moreso with the right woman at your side ;)).

imagine how freaky it would be if we could still remember stuff from before we were born.

I wish I could rememeber what it was like in the womb, just for the weirdness sake. But, you brain doesn't develop the structures for retaining long term memories until 18 months, plus or minus 6 months. Hence, on average, no one really remembers anything before about 1.5 years. A few can remember as early as about a year but that's it.

The first memory of which I'm certain of the date was about 17 months when we got our cat! I have hazy memories which I suspect where somewhat prior to that but cannot confirm the date.
