I'll just say that as someone who's seen certain individuals' over-use of terms such as "the audience" and "they" without sufficient clarification as to who "they" are or how said individuals are qualified to know "the audience"'s feelings, it's nice to see this being addressed.
That being said, I do have certain reservations regarding this manner of addressing it. I find myself wondering whether this couldn't have been handled though more direct and less...distracting...means.
