I think this is a fascinating discussion but it is a debate, not a series of fiats which can then be dismissed as solved.

Which is just a theory since it has never been observed.

I don't want to get into a tit for tat with you but it's one theory on black holes, which is no more or less closer to the truth than any other black hole theory, since they are hard enough to find and almost impossible to observe directly.

Hmmmmm.

I'm not inclined to hallucination (delusion perhaps, but that's a different thread), so ultimately I trust my senses. My senses aren't smart enough to make shit up.

I've seen lots of weird shit in the sky at night. My first thought isn't ZOMG, UFOs! I take the time to try and understand what my senses are really telling me.

It also ties in with another thread I saw here somewhere, if you are a brain in a jar, are you alive and what do you perceive? We are, in some ways, a product of our senses. You have to trust that what you perceive is real. This is not the Matrix.

You sound intentionally obtuse Tachy. People tried to explain you the fact that some answer are inherently unanswerable from a scientific point of view, and you reply with "Listen, it's simple..." It's not simple, and you are not even trying to understand.

Yes, the universe could be an illusion. But "could" in this case is not a scientific answer, because, if the universe is an illusion, you will never be able to know if it's true or false. You could never know. And if an answer is unattainable in science, then it's not science.

I can't really explain it better than that. If you don't understand, or you don't want to understand, it's your problem.

Erm..........no. I am here to have a conversation about the big bang and the origin of the universe, i'm not here to argue the toss about whether a question is philosophical or not.

Which is really funny, since he never had an education is the field. I'm not one for waving my dick around, but this is my job, yet Tachy feels he's more prepared than me in the subject. I suppose he also teaches fishes how to swim.
