BLINK OF AN EYE (voyager) vs CHILDREN OF TIME (ds9)
Two very interesting episodes that I really liked, I hope you did too..
Okay...Blink of an Eye. Voyager becomes trapped in the atmosphere of a planet. Though the ship is only trapped for, I think, an hour, for those on the planet, it seems to last thousands of years. (can any one say LOST?)...The planet's theology evolved around the ship, first thought to be a star, only to be seen as an invading ship by future generations. I loved this episode, and how DOC lived on the planet for years until being rescued. I liked how it was resolved, and how it touched on different themes; time travel and prime directive issues...great fun for all..
DS9's CHILDREN OF TIME also is an interesting time travel concept. Sisko and company become trapped on a planet that is populated by their own decendents. When they try to leave, they will most likely travel back into time and crash land. They will survive and have children, thus setting up an almost CAUSE AND EFFECT kind of loop, though much longer in scope. But, of course, Time Travel can not stand up to the most powerful force in the universe; TRUE LOVE. Odo(s) really pull this off, and everyone else does a great job as well. I know many thought time travel was over used, but I never did. As long as the story was different and unique, like this one, and Voyagers too, then who cares if it was time travel?
So..which one did you like better...
