Okay...AMOK TIME vs YESTERDAY'S ENTERPRISE is proving to be one heck of a battle. Both episodes were great, I think we would all agree on that. But seeing everyone's point of view was pretty cool. And, wow, I may actually watch them back to back this weekend....
Okay...Battle #2
What is the better episode between...
THE INNER LIGHT vs THE VISITOR
Another great battle here, I believe. Both are well written, and really well acted episodes.
Picard is zapped by a probe and lives another life on a world who's star is becoming hotter over time. He has a family, friends, and soon forgets his life on the Enterprise. We all know the twisty endning, and wow, that episode still gets to me...great great job. I liked how the passage of time is handled. And you really get to see Picard as a family man. He seems to reject that kind of life in the real world. But seeing him with a family and a wife really shows us the torment, I think, of being a career officer. Great stuff there!!! Still gets me all mushy when they 'lift the curtain' at the end.
THE VISITOR
This time Sisko is zapped by a warp field discharge. He is trapped in subspace and Jake is forced to go on with out his father. He truly is an orphan. Eventually he goes on with his life until he decides to try and rescue his father. Again, we all know the tragic yet hopeful ending for Jake(s). I still tear up on this one. I really do. I am a father now and I know exactly what both sides of that equation are. Tony Todd and Brooks, and Lofton, and the girl, all really do a great job.
So...what is the better episode....as Q would sway? "Whew, good luck."
