Lost in Space, Tank! from Cowboy Bebop, the UFO theme, Space 1999, Buckaroo Banzai, etc.

Where does one find punchy bouncy tracks like that outside of TV and movies? Most "jazz" tracks don't sound like that, or "electronic" or whatever but I'm not sure how to describe their genre or to seek out more like that? Anyone have any suggestions?

^I believe the term you are looking for is "acid jazz" although there is a lot of crossover with big band jazz, funk, blues, soul, and other genres. You can find lots of examples on youtube, especially by The Seatbelts.
