The Best Kirk Fight Scene???

KirksStuntMan

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
What is your favorite Captain Kirk fight scene?

Here's mine...even though Kirk kind of loses, he still kind of kicks the Andorian's rear end.

^ "Cut! Print it! Okay, for the fight scene we need stunt doubles for Kirk and Finnegan. Where are Paul Baxley and Vince Deadrick?"

That was the first scene I thought of - my absolute fave. Another one I like is the scene with Captain Tracey in the The Omega Glory

Agreed. Captain Tracy handles Kirk really well in their fight scenes. I also like the battle between Kirk and Cloud William.

Kirk vs. Gary Mitchell.

A mean right cross, vicious hand-chops, and an over the shoulder body toss.

Lots of good Kirk fights in Trek, but I particularly love those which don't use stunt doubles. Shatner was funny; sometimes he'd use a stunt guy for something very simple, like the bridge fight in Operation Annihilate. Other times, he'd do an amazingly complex sequence, such as my favorite in Tomorrow is Yesterday. Watch that one again and you'll find that Shatner did the whole thing - jumping, swinging, falling, punching and it all looks great.

Yep, he did the whole fight in Journey to Babel, but the thing that ruins that one for me was his weird "kick the wall" maneuver, resulting in an absurdly long exposure of his back to the enemy. I think they were trying to go for some kind of body slam or maybe a missed kick, but it really just looks like Kirk hated the wall.

In Journey to Babel, Kirk misses his patented flying drop kick, or body slam, or whatever the hell it is, and hurts himself. Maybe he gets the wind knocked out of him. That causes him to get stabbed, but he wins the fight.

I'm gonna stick by Jim Kirk and vote JtB, versus the Orion spy.

Good fight scene at the end of Spectre of the Gun. Beautiful Kirk drop kick after one of the best speeches Spock ever makes.

Not quite on topic, but his run in Arena is truly notable in this regard. He throws himself about with abandon, with explosions going off all over the place. I understand this is the ep that led to his tinnitus.
Even Nimoy got into the act!

Oh my favorite kirk fight scene is the one in the episode called Tommorow Is Yesterday he fights three air force MP and uses the swing on the top of the door !!!! then trips one of them up great fight scene. Don't forget about the famous kirk hand chops worked a treat all the time !!!!!

Spectre is one of my faves. I can't remember how they go from ghost bullets to punching. Which side starts that? It's late. (I CAN hear the bullets sound effects as they're dwindling down at the end of the shooting.)
