What are some people's favorite Halloween episodes of the various series? Some are obvious, some not so, but I've found a number of episodes of each series that may qualify.
Star Trek:
"Catspaw" is an obvious one, and I usually will watch this one this time of year. "The Man Trap" is another. I might also add "Day of the Dove" since they are trapped in a nightmarish scenario and "That Which Survives" since the landing party is being stalked by a 'woman' trying to kill them.
Star Trek (animated series):
This was a bit tougher since the show was oriented somewhat to children. But "Beyond the Farthest Star" was a bit unsettling and "One of Our Planets is Missing" features the Enterprise being trapped inside a space entity trying to 'eat' it basically.
The movies:
Probably Star Trek: First Contact. The Borg generally were pretty creepy from "Q, Who?" but somehow in First Contact, with the make up, the glistening pale skin, and just how the Borg stared at people made them seem even creepier.
The Next Generation:
"Night Terrors" immediately comes to mind. The scene in the cargo bay when Beverly sees all the corpses sitting up still gives me chills (esp. scarier since they don't actually do anything--sometimes less is more). "Phantasms" is another. This year I decided to watch "Frame of Mind"--which is more psychologically unsettling than horror.
Deep Space Nine:
"Empok Nor" wins the vote for me. However I'm in the midst of rewatching DS9 and already watched that one not too long ago so this year I decided to watch the first season episode "Dramatis Personae"--while not scary it does feature the characters basically taking on other roles--wearing different personality 'costumes' if you will.
Voyager:
"The Haunting of Deck 12" is the easy go to but I've also watched "The Thaw" around this time since it features aliens trapped in a nightmarish scenario--and clowns are usually pretty scary.
Enterprise:
"Impulse" is your classic 'zombie' story basically--but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Being trapped on a starship with crazed Vulcans. The creepiest scenes were the parts where one of the Vulcans would just stare at them. And the crazy asteroid field gave me the creeps. Seeing the Vulcan ship in the midst of that chaos, partly destroyed, gave it a 'haunted' feel. And the random sounds of asteroids crashing into the hull was pretty effective too. You never knew when there might be a hull breach. The first season "Fight or Flight" might have potential too. Running into hanging corpses is always good for a good scare.
Discovery:
I've only seen season 1 thus far so the sample size is limited. Maybe "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" since they are trapped in a recurring loop where Mudd kills them all at the end of each loop.
