I agree that there is an inconsistency in this scene. I've noticed it for a long time.

I'd have to think about what my favorite Trek getaway is. Most of them just happen when the transporter chief finally gets a good lock. I guess it would be the one from that TOS episode where Kirk, McCoy and the redshirts are trapped on that planet with the giant monsters and Spock takes a risk to ignite the plasma.

At least one of those, Bajor, is in orbit, so it may be much closer at other times than others.

I would think that Enterprise Incident and Yesterday's Enterprise were memorable getaways.
