The Bejeweled Series

OK...I apologize if this doesn't constitute "gaming" (if not, feel free to move it into Misc.), but I wanted to see who else here is hopelessly addicted to Bejeweled. What games? What are your high scores and high levels? :D I'll post my stats later, because I have a Bejeweled 3 classic game I've been working on for days, that is working its way towards Level 30. (Think I still have a few more levels to go.) Then I'll be sure of what my high score actually is, because I've passed the 5,000,000 mark and doubled my last high score.

EDIT: Classic mode--Bejeweled 3--reached Level 28 and a score of 6,243,860. Total time: 148:05. :D

I used to played the original Bejewelled quite a lot but I haven't played it in a long time though I have played other similar Match-3 games (Galapago, Jewel Quest, Paradise Quest).

I tried playing Bejewelled on Facebook but it ran slow on my computer.

I used to play them that way, way back in the day (not Facebook, but Flash), but then after downloading a demo of Bejeweled 2, and playing it for a year even though it interrupted every 5 minutes, I decided to buy it.

Then I ended up with Bejeweled 2, Twist, AND 3!

There was a point when Twist started running really slow on my old laptop to where I couldn't play it anymore, but now that I have my new laptop, I guess it's got me all excited about those games again. ;)

I have just downloaded Bejewelled 2. I am so out of practiced that I only got to level 3 scoring about 70,000 points.

I have played many Big Fish games over the years. I prefer Marble Poppers to Match 3 even though there are similarities between the two genres i.e. you have to get at least 3 lined up to get rid of them.

There is a strategy that will let you rack up major points...make sure you keep a "reserve" move all the way at the bottom, at all times, if you can help it. :D Identify it, but don't play it unless you have NO other choice. A power sphere is an acceptable backup strategy, but not one you can count on.

(That works on 2 and 3. Twist is a whole different animal.)

Yes, I think that is the strategy I used to use. I am now having a go at Classic Mode on Bejewelled 2. I only play for about 20 minutes at a time, at least the game can be saved and continued later.

When I got my first computer I was addicted to Tetris games, which were eventually displaced by Bejewelled and its ilk. Nowadays I do so much on my computer that I play games a lot less than I used to. However it is good to go back to old favourites once in a while.
