The Animated Series - Good or mere Curiosity?

Is The Animated Series actually, you know...good?

No. It's a curiosity - fun if you're already a fan, but not as interesting as the least of the live-action Trek offerings and considerably less intriguing than several fan films I've seen.

No it's not good...is that it then...case closed? LOL not even an IMO thrown in there...just NO.

T'baio I would read through this thread and you'll see the general consensus is that it's pretty good.

Part of me likes to look at TAS as something of a storyboard for live-action episodes.

TAS is definitely for children. And yet, IMO, it's still infinitely more intelligent than VOY.

He-Man fans ought to thank TAS as well. Filmation got all its He-Man sound FX from Star Trek. Cannon's were photon torpedoes, portals were the transporter sound, computers were the Enterprise bridge sounds, alerts used the red alert klaxon, etc. I vaugely remember the tribble sound being used as well.
