I'm confused, you said it's being hand reared, but at the end of the video they put it back with mom and dad. If it's with mom and dad it's not being hand raised, because they only do that when the parents can't or won't take care of the baby.

Likely there was complications or illness with the beaver kit's birth mother and they had to handrear the baby briefly it in its first critical days or weeks, then re-introduced it to its biological parents later on (it's a sadly fairly common and more prolonged issue with primate birth in captivity).
