They really are, there's a Friesian mare and she's awesome. She's really friendly too, she comes right over when she sees me, but there's two fences between us, so I haven't been able to get close enough to pet her or anything like that.
 
Something I just captioned for the Cheezburger site:

The brown Emperor penguin is an older chick that's going through its final molt to gain its black, white, and gold adult plumage. But at this time the chick is still dependent on the adult to feed it, as chicks can't get their own food until their waterproof feathers grow in.

This 'teenage' penguin chick is probably demanding food NOW!
