Yeah, I heard about the animals dying, I just looked up a story, and it sounds like that was more the fault of the farm they were at and not necessarily the movie's production team. Sure they probably could have found a better place to keep them, but a lot of places like that don't seem that bad when you first find them.
One of the sanctuaries I follow, Ziggy's Refuge has started up a Youtube page, and started off with an Meet the Refuge Family video.
