The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

So I guess if she comes to say hi again, I just won't pet up past her nose.

Not yet to the forehead or a scratch behind the ears and don't even Dare to get close to her tail.

From your description she has trust issues, go slowly. I had--Dad's but I considered them mine-- a pair of Palominos once and they are so to say, just a bit skittish.

Yeah, I'll definitely go a bit slower next time. She just came up to fence and stuck her over so fast, I assumed she was OK being pet, and was a little shocked she backed off so quick. The others I've pet there have been a bit more cautious when they came to the fence.
And I definitely know to stay away from the back end. I always keep a close eye on that end anytime one is pointed in my direction.

^ Looks more like a fox from the markings.
Could be, it just came up on GIPHY when I searched for coyote GIFs.

According to the description on Youtube, they were both mares at a sanctuary and the one on the right was a new arrival and her neighbor, the paint, was not being very welcoming. It did say they have become friends since the video was taken though.

A baby painted turtle walking by in the front yard today, so we grabbed the guy, got some pictures and let him go.

I had some of them as pets when I was a kiddo and once captured a box turtle.

In retrospect, I should have let him/her roam free.

Kim, my fiancee, and me thought we should have kept the turtle too, but he was gone. Maybe put him in an empty bin.. He was so friendly and cute. I have to mow the lawn today soon.. I might find him again.. But I might mow him into pieces too so I will keep a careful eye as I know what he looks like.
