Is there a specific etiquette for passing horseback riders while on a bike?
Usually when I pass people, I like to tell them that I'm coming up behind them, but when I did that with a lady riding a horse this morning she got mad at me. I slowed down and gave them room, but I just didn't want to come flying up around them with no warning.

Some people will get mad at you no matter what. I worked for a cable company on weekends and some lady started yelling at me because I was too polite with her during an outage.

It was rather interesting since the colors hadn't fully set, and the parts that eventually turn gray on this species are a much more metallic silver at this point. Many species are a very vibrant green when they first emerge until their bodies harden. But males are noisy at almost any stage. :D

A summer or two ago, I caught some nice pics of an emerging cicada one night. The wings hadn't completely hardened.

That is when you have to catch 'em, fresh outta the shell. Before the overuse of pesticides you could safely cook 'em. I liked them in garlic butter and they have a peanut-like taste.

These are the ones that only "come out" every 17 years. I'm due to get hit by them in a few weeks and have my bee bonnet ready cuzzzzzzzzzzz, the gurls are attracted :adore: to the sound of lawn mowers and will "dive bomb" your ass.
