DC has black squirrels, which was supposedly was from Wisconsin IIRC...there's a sign about this at the National Zoo.

Here in Chicagoland, we have quite a few black squirrels. Way more common than the white ones. In fact I'm not sure I've ever seen a white squirrel.

When I was a young lad, I once captured a Box-Turtle, in the woods. They are beautiful and fascinating creatures.

Montana? I've never been farther west or north than Denver. But I have raised rabbits. Pass the BBQ sauce.

Yes.

We briefly raised rabbits too, until our dog ripped the cage open and had a 'bbq' of her own.

Very wild food items we bbq'ed there, in order of my liking, deer, elk, black bear and moose.

Well shit, you left out catfish and sunfish/blue gill pan fried in garlic butter.

Yeah, we had those but we coveted the Stream Trout.

'Minds me O the time we went to Frozen Lake Canada. Back then it was a two hour hike in and out but son, those fish would bite a bare hook. Only took a few minutes to catch what we could carry out. lol
