The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

I really like squirrels. We have a lot of Harris's antelope squirrels around here, and they are so cute. We also have Rock squirrels, but I've only seen them 2 or 3 times in the 20+ years we've lived out here.
One of the trademark animals we have out here, that both my mom and I have still never seen in the wild is Javalinas.
I find insects interesting on nature shows and things like that, but in person, I don't like them.

With the stripes, they remind me of chipmunks!

Have I mentioned the famous white squirrels of Exeter, Ontario?

They are not albino squirrels, because they don't have the red eyes that albino squirrels have. They are apparently eastern gray squirrels, but their colouration is believed to be caused by a genetic mutation.

I helped a guy keep bees on our farm back in the old days and they do not scare me. Just don't swat at them or their more evil cousins, it just pisses them off.

But spiders and snakes...

I used to be really scared of bees, because I had never been stung before and I had no idea what kind of reaction I'd have. Now that I've been stung once, possibly twice while out on my bike, and had no real reaction, I just don't like them. The first time I got stung, I was terrified during my ride that I was gonna go into anaphylactic shock and drop over dead right there, but luckily nothing happened. The second time, I'm actually not actually sure if it was a bee, I just felt something sting me, but never saw what it was.

That's so cool, I've never seen one of them before.

This poor guy has kind of a sad story. His previous owner couldn't afford to take care of him any long, and decided that no on else could either and was just going to have him euthanized. The ladies who run Furvivors heard, and spent forever going back and forth with this person for hours, trying to convince them to let them have him. As you can see from the video, they eventually managed to get him.

Olney, Illinois has white squirrels also, but I believe they are albino.
