Glad you were able to go, hope you’ll be able to go back or find another to explore! We visited Farm Angels Sactuary this morning, and I had a really good time. It wasn't anything real fancy, it was just a house with the animals in the backyard, but they seemed really well taken care, and the lady was nice.

The one horse is a little skinny, but she said he's their old man, and in human terms he'd be about 90.
We also pet one of the other horses, and she had a fenced off area to one side where she had a bunch more birds, but we got busy and I forgot to take pictures of them.
My only minor complaint was that we didn't get spend a lot of time in with the big animals, because as you can see in the picture, the cow Penny has her horns, and she was getting too playful, so we had to leave that area.
I did ask my mom about going back and volunteering, but she said it's to far to go there regularly.
I hope to. The lady who runs it does monthly work days, so those might be spread out enough that my mom might willing to go back for them.Glad you were able to go, hope you’ll be able to go back or find another to explore!

They’re very clever kidsI have to admit, for a while I was not a big fan of goats, but after seeing some of the goats at the sanctuaries I follow, and espcially after meeting Xander, the big guy in the first picture I posted yesterday, I now officially like goats. Xander was the first resident at the sanctuary to come over to us, and he stood right next to me for the first few minutes we were in there.
You're welcome, I really enjoy following all of them. But just to warn you, when you start it can be really hard not to keep donating to them constantly. I keep swearing I'm going to stop until I get more money, but then something else comes up and I can't resist sending them something. Thanks for the links; those’ll be fun to follow!
^Sounds like territory marking kind of stuff. Also, yuck!
I would guess that donations are allowed to go to utilities and food and such if it’s registered as a charity. It seems like a thin living but it might be enough for the truly devoted.Yeah, I think's also a way to attract the lady goats.
There's something I've been wondering about with the sanctuaries. A lot of the people who run them, it's all they do 24/7/365, they don't have any other jobs, and they all promise all of the money they get through donations or anything else related to the sanctuary, all goes to the caring for the animals. So my question is, in a situation like that how would a person pay for their non-animal expenses, groceries, bills, ect.?
A lot of them a younger, in their 20s or 30s, so they're not old enough to be retired or anything like that.
