The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

Just got back from sending our Coconut to the Rainbow Bridge. After dealing with jaw abscess last fall, the vet discovered her "cough/hiccup" was a mass in her chest cavity. Yesterday, she stopped showing any interest in food or treats and was starting to breath heavily, so it was her time to not prolong her suffering.

With her friend, Loki, who never did bond with her despite her best efforts.

She's alive in this photo. She had just done a bunny flop, also sometimes known as a rabbit death flop, where they suddenly flop over on their side and close their eyes. It is a sign of contentment, and they feel safe.

So very sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful bunny and you clearly gave her a very good home.

I'm so sorry, that's always hard.
So I've heard back from the lady at the sanctuary, and we'll be going Wednesday morning. So hopefully I'll have some pictures and videos to share later that day.
And yes, I am prepared to get dirty, and I known there is a decent chance I'll end up bitten, stepped on, spit on or any other number of things, and I'm ready for it.

So sorry. It doesn't matter what kind of furry friend we have, it always hurts to lose one.

That last one looks like Chunk the Groundhog, who I actually follow on Instagram.

I found this GIF a while ago and I've been for an opportunity to use, and I finally can today.

Saw one of the horseback riders I talk to on my bike ride and we stopped talked for a couple minutes while she let me pet her horse.
Also had little bit of a moment of guilt later, because I accidently spooked a couple of horses while I was going past the riding club. There's a wall when you first come up to it, and I didn't realize there were a couple of girls by it, and their horses jumped back a little when I came out from behind it. I wanted to apologize, but I never got a chance to.

I narrowly missed having my first encounter with a rattlesnake on my bike ride this morning. As she walked past me a lady said there was one on the path up ahead, but I never saw it. I thought I might have heard a rattle at one point, but was real quick so I'm not sure.

Nope

Oh, HELL NO!

Unfortunately no pix because I was driving but I saw my first coyote irl on tonight’s drive home. It was pretty large but I knew it was too small to be a wolf. Car behind me acted impatient until they saw what I was gawking at.
