So hyped for s6. Re watched most of s5. So now I'm re caught up with it.
I've hit the midpoint of Season 5 and some random thoughts ...
* Anyone else want to throttle Paige? For three seasons I wanted nothing more but to smack the whiny brat.
* Why is Paige's facial expression in a constant 'WTF?' look? (my wife thinks it's her wonky eyebrows)
* Gabrielle was awesome. Terrific actor there
* Poor, poor Martha .... She really got hosed over.
* I wonder what the wig budget is on this production? Probably enough to end starvation in some small 3rd world country...

I'm not a fan of Paige either. I don't think she has the sociopathic instinct that her mom has to do what she does. Of course, I could be proven wrong easily enough, but they are running out of time to make that case. I haven't found her terribly impressive thus far.
I'm also a big fan of Paige and I've loved watching her character develop over the years.
OK, all caught up ... Bring on Season 6!
Additional random thoughts ....
* Season 5 was, IMHO, the weakest of the lot. Tons of setup with really not much of a focus or big payoff. Seemed to meander a lot.
* So Martha gets a consolation prize orphan. What a waste of a character and excellent actress. I think she had, what, three or four scenes all of Season 5!?!
* Never really understood why Pastor Tim didn't end up in front of a speeding bus. Paige might figure we had something to do with it? Really .... fairly lame for spies that had no issue with killing potential threats cleanly and discretely. The Pastor and his wife die in a traffic accident on the Beltway... Happens all the time in DC. Could have used some better writing, not a fan of that whole arc...
* Liked Oleg this season. Though his story was a bit weak and fairly predictable, the portrait painted of the corruption and payoffs in the Soviet system was pretty spot on.
* What purpose did Stan and his new girlfriend actually serve this season? Didn't really drive or substantially impact the Jennings story in Season 5. Provided some color and the "Is she a spy too" narrative, but that's about it....
* Did I mention Paige's eyebrows are wonky?
* Elizabeth has a nice bumm.

I think the actress who played Martha was filming feud during season 5 so maybe that's why we did not see much of her.

I can't wait for the final season. But realistically, I just don't see how this is going to end well for our violent and murderous Mom and Dad spies. Just have to wait and see. This, and GOT, are the best shows on TV. I can't wait to see how Paige turns out.
I wonder what any of us, when we were kids, would have done if we found out our parents were Russian spies. Since I didn't get along with my parents at that young age, I probably would have turned them in. LOL

There's no way the Jennings are getting out of it scot-free. They've killed too many people. And since there's a 3-year time jump and they obviously didn't get out when they had the chance, it can only mean that they will get stung. I used to think Philip and Elizabeth (one or both) would end up in jail, but now I have a sneaking feeling that Paige will die. That's the ultimate price they pay. She'll mess up somehow and die, and they will spend the rest of their lives in jail wondering what "the cause" was worth, and what it ultimately cost them.
