The Americans is Delightful.

That sequence near the beginning where Elizabeth was sneaking into some place was really really dark. I couldn't see a thing. I really felt bad for that poor woman that Elizabeth talked into going to that party only to have her spit up blood everywhere. it was painful and sad.

Elizabeth's murder streak continues...and now it's escalating. I don't think she has any kind of blood lust, but after awhile, killing so many people, even in self-defense of herself and/or mission, is going to catch up to her sooner than later.

We've seen so little development for Henry over the years that my heart can't help but break when he heard the news that he might not be able to return to his beloved school for his senior year. Small potatoes in comparison to everything else that's going on in the show, but I'm grateful the show continues to focuses on the minutiae. Seems like CorporalCaptain's postulation that Philip's financial issues could be used against him will probably happen, especially if Philip feels so guilty about not helping his son as much as he can.

So despite, or perhaps because of, Elizabeth's belief that Paige isn't ready to work a source (with sex, no less!), Paige seems to have thrown caution into the wind and do it anyways. We have only six episodes left, so I'm not sure how much development we're actually going to get on that front.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth is making sure Paige is nowhere near the Stan surveillance team. No way is Paige ready to up against her neighbor and friend.

I had the same issue, and not just on this show. This might be a TV issue, that I haven't ironed out yet, but it's good to know that I'm not the only one.
Oh, good, I'm glad it wasn't just me. I had to deal with a bad glare from sunlight I couldn't cover up, so it was especially hard for me to see what was going on.

Phillip meeting with Oleg is just a tad dangerous, don't you think? I can just see Stan and friends popping out from the bushes and surprising Oleg and Stan's like "Phillip! WTF??". LOL
I know, right?!
Oleg seems to have heard you guys because he not only mentioned that he was to make sure he wasn't followed, he knows it's not to safe to meet in the open again.

People have been complaining about the darkness in scenes on Game of Thrones for years now, and I never understood the issue because I could always see fine. But last night was the first time I understood what they meant. I couldn't see a damn thing. It was rather ridiculous.

I couldn't either. I don't like shows that make scenes so dark. Ran into that issue with the recent X Files season. Some parts of eps were really hard to see. Sure the show was known for not using a ton of light bulbs, but give me a break when it's so hard to see that you can't keep up with the characters and what they're saying!

Yeah that dark scene was pretty bad. I understand that it was probably a very accurate depiction of how something like that would happen but in this case I think I would err on the side of poetic license and make it a little brighter so that the audience could see what was going on.

Yea they did an ok job, but it couldn't have hurt to make it a bit brighter so we wouldn't have been left in the dark there.

If I didn’t have the closed captioning turned on telling me what was going on (like silenced gunshots for example) I wouldn’t have had a clue what was happening.

Yeah, that sounds familiar. Probably at that rural location with...was it bees? I've already forgotten.
Wasn't it where they were trying to get a hold of the GMO food, I think it was wheat?

Had the same problem during parts of It (2017). They made parts of it too dark to see what was going on.

So it's shaking out pretty much the way I thought....Gennadi and Sophia were killed, which will put Stan on the trail of Elizabeth. I think Gennadi's agent getting a look at Elizabeth in the alleyway when she asked for a light will come up again....they made a point of showing us his face, implying he got a good look, and it might lead to a sketch which they might be able to compare against other sketches they have on file....

I still think that Paige is going to slip up. Philip's attempt to "scare her straight" by showing her she's not ready for a serious fight against a skilled opponent will put some doubts into her, but she'll make a bigger mistake. That's probably coming down the road.

I must say I was surprised by Oleg meeting Tatiana again. That's a wrinkle I wasn't expecting. Oleg is serioulsy moving into "Jaime Lannister territory" for me. I know he probably will die, but I really don't want him to. I'll be pulling for him until the end.

Once Elizabeth finds out that Philip bailed on the "kidnap Kimmie in Bulgaria" thing, that will set them against each other, which will unspool towards the end when they have to truly go up against each other....and Philip will be forced to put her down because she simply won't stop.

This season is fascinating.

Paige is too reckless and is taking chances she shouldn't be. I'm not sure she's really cut out for the spy business.

I suspected Gennadi and Sofia would be killed due to the promo for this week's episode showing Stan walking though several police cars.

I'm worried about Oleg. That target on his back is growing.
