The Amazing Race--4/11/2010

Brent and Caite made it to the final four. I think it's probably time to stop ragging on them.

Although the lesbians were whiny sucky bitches about it, they were right about the fact that they should have taken out the cops or the cowboys.

That said, at that point you've probably develop cliques (they're the "cubs" after all) and you just want to race with your friends.

True. The U-Turn probably would have taken out either of those teams, and getting rid of either of them might have benefited Brent and Caite more. Still, I can completely understand the instinct to want to get rid of the team that has it out for you the most.

It definitely would have made more sense to U-Turn Jet/Cord or Louie/Michael because they were more of a threat, but Carol/Brandy were so mean-spirited and vindictive about the whole thing that I'm glad they're gone.

The big risk (with choosing Jet/Cord or Louie/Michael) is that they have demonstrated an ability to potentially survive the U-Turn. You don't want a U-Turned team gunning for you during the next couple legs.

Also true. That's why I'm not a fan of the Blind U-Turn, which I wish they'd get rid of.

They could have not done it and let the other teams duke it out. I have no doubt that the cowboys and the cops would have probably u-turned each other given the chance.

I honestly don't blame them for giving them the U-turn. Carol and Brandy have been so horrible to Brent and Caite they just deserve to go.
Brent and Caite aren't going to win this thing so why not go out knowing that you had the last laugh on the ones that were so awful to them.

Forget logic - I'm just glad Carol and Brandy are gone, I don't care how it happened. They were whiny and annoying, good riddance.

Any of the remaining teams could win it. The one thing we've seen this race is first to last and last to first numerous times.

I didn't care for the team and I'm glad they're gone (their constant bitching got on my nerves), but it didn't look to me like Carol and Brandy were that mean-spirited towards Caite. They made a few catty remarks early on, but unless there was a lot more that the viewers didn't see, maybe Caite needs to grow a thicker skin.

I don't think it mattered who was U-turned, though, since none of the teams are really dominating. Depending on what's ahead, it may have made sense to U-turn Carol and Brandy. They weren't physically stronger, but their travel experience and foreign laguage skills may have made them a threat to win.

I meant their reaction to being U-Turned, and how they wouldn't shut up about Caite being an idiot afterward. I can't really say anything about the two teams' interactions in previous episodes because I haven't really been following this season as closely as usual (none of the teams really piqued my interest in the beginning).

So how many of you have made a Ice Cream sandwich with white bread this week?

I'll admit to it, curiosity got the better of me. It was okay, I actually liked it better then the standard USA style ice cream sandwich.

^^ Not for me, although we only have that gritty 7 grain bread at home, and that would not be good eats.

I didn't know that was a Singaporean thing since that's how I learned to make Ice Cream sandwiches. Although in hindsight, it makes sense that was where my family would have picked up the habit.

I totally missed the first bit of the show with Allan Wu. That's awesome.

I thought it was great, too!

Yeah, I need to watch the last season of AR Asia sometime.

I do find it strange that the Asian version is able to get contestants from all over Asia but the American version (and other gameshows) can't get foreigners to participate.

In fact, I'm pretty sure Jeopardy and maybe The Price is Right are the only shows that have let Canadians in.

I've read it has to do with headaches in the tax codes. That contestants would need a work visa or something.

Oof, really? If you are a "contestant" are you an employee of an American company? I suppose you are paid per diems as part of the contest (and probably get during the "off hours")... but oh well. Hooray for US tax law I guess.
