I had a feeling Armed Forces Broadcasting was involved somewhere. I just wish I'd known about them before I joined the Air Force, then I wouldn't have spent four years in Admin.

I never heard him while 'in country' but I sure enjoyed the movie.
Adrian Cronauer. A bit of the real guy can be heard in "Platoon" (the scene where they're cleaning out the latrines).

Off the wall question, if I may?
Do you remember which of the Viet Nam theme based movies had some of the guys commenting about maybe they shouldnt have fragged Lt Niedermeyer? I read somewhere that this comment was a reference to the end-credits comment in Animal House about how Niedermeyer was killed by his own men in Viet Nam but I can't remember in which movie that comment was made. Thanks.
