This presumes that time would be moving forward in that corridor. For all we know, it is not: the two goons have their hands locked at each other's throat, and are frozen that way for all eternity, from the moment the portal-ship is blown up. After all, that's what Kirk's dialogue actually describes.
Although why should Kirk know the first thing about what will happen when he follows the instructions of the sane Lazarus? How does Kirk come up with this strange prediction in the first place?
