The Almost-Uhuras for "Corbomite"

Maurice

Albeit this information is on Memory Alpha, citing Cash Markman's oft-erroneous "These Are the Voyages Vol. 1", whilst perusing some of the old TOS production docs I ran across the memo he apparently cites. There's no day listed on it, but it appears to be May 1966, and it lists four actresses all to appear at 11:00 am on "Thursday" for the as yet unnamed "Communications" role for "The Corbomite Maneuver". They were:

Mittie Lawrence (photo)
Ena Hartman (photos)
Nichelle Nichols
Gloria Calomee (photos)

I find a number of pages claiming these actresses were in the show as extras, but I find that incredibly dubious, especially given as SAG and SEG were separate guilds at the time. Memory Alpha also cites this as possibly in error.

So, some "what if"s for you to think about. :)

Great post, thanks! But obviously none of these hot women had a chance compared to the one who was so intimate and accomodating with GR.

I have been thinking about a fact check on this one...

The same casting memo is the source of the equally dubious claim that The Most Interesting Man In The World was on Star Trek.
