The ALF Christmas special

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Technically it's science fiction, but I'm posting it because it is one the most moving holiday specials ever, at least for me when I was a kid.

Enjoy

"ALF" and "moving" are not two words I would ever think to use together in a sentence.

I really like this Christmas special too and it is moving, because of the scene you mentioned. I'd also add the stuff with ALF and the sick little girl were done exceptionally well. The part at the end where he's in the Tanner's car looking up at her room and she is watching him from her hospital window is really sad and touching. Cleavon Little does a great job in this too.

Most of the ALF tv series was silly, but this was one of the few episodes that wasn't.

I agree. I was going to write more earlier, but I was mobile.

This special is unique for Christmas specials.. moving, while taking risks... and yet still delivering some of the same comic beats of the show. I posted it because I feel that it is under rated and I think it deserves a look once more. Thank you for your feedback.

Apparently, based on the dedication at the end, either the baby or the little girl is based on a real person.

I still remember this from all those years ago...the scene on the bridge was heart wrenching, but amazing. All these years later, it still holds up.

Video not available in my country. :(

I liked watching ALF, but I don't actually remember ever seeing the Christmas Special. Shame I can't see it, but I suppose at least British cats can sleep soundly knowing ALF isn't available here...

Wow. I didn't realize they put that much thought into the special.

Yes, that's why I was surprised to here ALF described as moving. Good on them for doing something like that though.
