The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

The only other high-ranking, easily recognizable heroine in the Star Wars Saga is Padmé, but your display is clearly OT-oriented, so it'd make no sense to slip Natalie Portman's character into the mix.

I mean, there's Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma....but who aside from the more hardcore Star Wars nerds knows or even cares who Mon Mothma even is?

Not to mention that Sideshow has yet to make a figure or either Padme or Mon Mothma. Looking, back I really should have made Loki the Emperor, but it wouldn't have been as visually interesting.

The Vintage Collection Ewok Assault Catapult set (Kmart exclusive) has just hit!

Retail for the two figures, catapult weapon and Vintage packaging is $20.99.

Aaaand finally a Red Spartan!!!

Love those HALO figures. I don't have many, only about four of the 5.5-inch line, but they're cool to both play with and display, IMO.

McFarlane's Halo figures are just great. It proves that they're still capable of fantastic work. Makes me wonder what the heck happened with the Walking Dead line.

Picked up the DCC Joker from Death of the Family. Man, this figure is great. The detail is gruesome, as it should be. It perfectly captures the look of the Joker from this story. It's also a nice break from the purple suit after purple suit that Joker figures tend to be.

Major Star Wars reveals tonight!

-a new Ree-Yees in the Black Series (3.75")
-new Dagobah Yoda with an eerie resemblance to the original 1979-80 puppet
-new Dagobah Luke with training backpack
-Wedge Antilles in Hoth Snowspeeder Gear
-Torynn Farr
-Snowtrooper Commander
-another Darth Vader of an as-yet-unknown theme and film

Plus:

-the very first glimpse at Star Wars: Rebels action figure packaging for late 2014 (hint: it'll remind you a whole lot of the 2008 Legacy Collection and Clone Wars designs)

Earth 2 GL and Wonder Woman look great. Black Cat and Superior Spidey are must buys for me. i may not be so fond of the comic, but i do dig the Superior Spidey suit.

I'm really not a fan of the Earth-2 redesigns, so I guess I'll be passing on those. Also, Wonder Woman seems an odd choice. Wasn't she killed off in the first issue? Why not Hawkgirl instead? The cartoony War figures don't appeal to me, either. Yeesh, I'm a downer, aren't I?

i like Alan's redesign fine. but Flash...not so much. it is odd having Earth 2 WW in that line...but i like that version of her costume so i'll get it too. maybe the new Earth 2 Batman. not sure. and yeah, Hawkgirl or Dr. Fate would have been better choices than WW.

Yeah, Jay's costume is certainly the one I've had the hardest time getting used to. I also don't like that he and Alan are no longer contemporaries. Green Lantern and Flash must be best friends no matter the generation or universe.

The upcoming Toryn Farr action figure in the Black Series looks eerily accurate. I always thought Toryn Farr in Echo Base has a resemblance to Helen Hunt or Leelee Sobieski and her first action figure does have a Helen or Leelee vibe to it with those facial features.

Finally - those of you who wanted to reenact scenes from Mad About You or Deep Impact have the customizing fodder you need.
