The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Yeah, one fan headcanon I've seen is that Merida is their daughter...but Loki sent her back in time where she was adopted by a king and queen.

Scored another 6" Sandtrooper earlier today! Sweeeeet!

Target somehow manages to come through in spite of recent mediocre stocking of new product. They had all four 6" characters and two each of the Sandtrooper and Luke, so my timing was just right this time around.

I'm something of an old-school Transformers fan. I remember being disappointed that they never never made an honest to goodness toy for Arcee basedon her rather feminine look form the original film. Apparently someone has, and she is now called The Delicate Warrior, a term that is both appropriate to her character but also somewhat of an oxymoron itself if seen without context. She was brave in battle, sure, but lacked strength and endurance and wasn't tough enough to really help out her fellow Autobots. Pictures of the figure, made overseas, are below. Would anyone here buy her?

I know there's some cool third-party figures that are based on G1 characters, though they're usually not referred to by their official names for legal reasons. This might be their Arcee figure. But a number of them are intended to be more consistent with their G1 counterparts.

Had a TRU coupon for 25% Off any non-sale item in the store so I went ahead and picked up the new Biggs X-Wing Fighter in the classic Kenner packaging (Vintage Collection). The regular price is $59.99 in part because it's a TRU exclusive ship, but 25% off brought it down to a more palatable price and the gorgeous red, silver and black Kenner box mimicking the original X-Wing Fighter from the end of the seventies was also an incentive.

This is one of the best 3.75" scale X-Wings ever, period. A little overpriced due to being an exclusive and in the retro, collector-aimed packaging, but for the quality of the ship, its deco and features as well as the store discount coupon it was a good purchase.

i don't buy any third party Transformers. yes, most of them are really great and better than official Hasbro molds. but for one, i just can't justify the expense. i'd love to have that third party Sixshot. it looks so sweet, but not at those prices. heck, i feel bad just spending $30 on a Figuarts or Robot Damashii every so often.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Some of them are pretty sweet, but unaffordable. :p

i finally found Hot Wheels KITT at a flea market over the weekend. had been looking for it quite some time but like the Star Trek ships, never saw them in stores.
