The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

I started a diecast car collection two years ago. I bought three displays to show case some of my cars. I really find looking at them therapeutic. It is helping my mental state alot nowdays.

This is all you guys' fault. I probably would never have even heard of The Black Series...

Hubby and I got each other these for our birthdays this month - Hubby's Dark Saber and my Leia lightsaber. The work on these is terrific! ACTUAL METAL! Everything looks and sounds awesome. I'm beyond pleased.

Some of the Hasbro Star Wars livestream reveals from today. We finally have carded images of the first new 3.75" Piett figure in 25 years and the all-new Phase II Clone Trooper mold based on Andor, plus an unmasked Darth Vader with battle damage from the final lightsaber clash with Luke and a remarkably new Han Solo mold from the Endor Bunker raid that uses a lot of new parts and isn't just the repaint of an existing 2011 figure that some of us were expecting. The Clone Captain Howzer is the recent 2022 Clone Captain Ballast figure and cardback from the four-pack of Clone figures from The Bad Batch but with the name corrected to reflect series accuracy(Ballast was the wrong name and used by Hasbro based on early, incorrect information about Season 1 of the show).

The Weequay is a repack of the 2012 Vintage Collection Weequay for those who couldn't get him at the time and/or don't want to pay the very high secondary market prices for the figure.

I'm wondering how long term storage affects toys.

I had a 2009 Optimus Prime which I bought when the movie Revenge Of The Fallen came out, it was a masterpiece figure, Hasbro's way of saying best quality, It was and the transformation was involved, and the quality 10 times at least better then what you can buy now. Anyway I had him standing up as a robot in the top of my cupboard for whatever number of years and on a whim the other night took him down to see if I could do the transform without cheating. 35 or so minutes later I did but I did cheat a bit with a video in one part.

Anyway much to my disappointment it wouldn't stand up on its own, It was only standing because the back of the cupboard was holding it up, the ball joints in the ankles had become really loose and I'm wondering if all this time in storage was the reason.
