They look like that had fun with that!

Sorry, I never thanked you guys for answering my question. I have seen the Tobey Maguire movies but it has been a long time ago so not many memories from them. I shall check them out!

I have been very busy during the past weeks. Since I became a Robert Beltran fan through watching Star Trek Voyager, I also have watched many other movies with him. "Lone Wolf McQuade" was my first Chuck Norris movie, I have no idea how I could have missed this so far. I absolutely loved it, and I loved Robert's character so much that I made this figure of Kayo. It was a lot of work but I am very proud of him!

I started with a Motion Picture Bones, as he already had the open collar that I needed.

I shortened his tunic and filled out spaces with Milliput, also forming the collar. I also switched out the arms to those from the Talosian Keeper.

I spent ages trying to mix the right skin color. The original Chakotay figure is too light, and I had to re-do it several times as he turned out too dark. Painting a face in that small scale is not easy. It is easy to screw up though. Not doing that any time soon again.

I made the shirt pockets not with Milliput but with several pieces of plastic added to each other. It gave a cleaner edge and shape.

Painting the stripes was another nightmare.

At first I had tried to use the Star Trek symbol to make into the Sheriff star but that looked too clumsy so I just printed it from a screenshot. Also the red patches on the sleeves.

The only hat I could find in my stash was this. I cut of the feather (shame! I loved it!) and painted it white. I also added the brown hat band.

I made the weapon belt from scratch as well. The belt buckle is a chain link from a keyring. I even sewed the holster with the tiniest needle I could find. I already had the gun (borrowed from Jack Harkness) and the cuffs.

I put leather around some foam rubber and then added another stripe for the flap. At the back it became a loop. All the items can be moved around on the belt.

And then I got the highest approval you can imagine!

Amazing work! So cool he recognized your craft!

Thanks! And yeah, I've seen that! I am collecting the 6" Amber collection, but I love this! I wonder if I should get the set just for the console it comes with.

Thank you! I was floating on cloud nine the whole day long! It was a lot of work but I am really pleased. He looks so cute.
I might make more ;)

@Astra how do you do head swaps with Trek figures? I am still trying to figure out the best way.

So, there's two ways.
The first Chakotay I did, I took off the head for easier painting and filing away at the body and then put the head back on. You need to heat water, and then dunk the figure in for a few minutes. Then the plastic gets soft. The first time, I was able to pull the head straight out, quite easy. I was surprised how easy it was.

Now, putting it back in was more difficult. Even though I heated it again, I had to cut off a bit of the plug so it would fit through the hole. That is no problem, it does not need to go all the way around, halfway is enough.

With other heads I pulled off this way though, the plug did not want to go through the hole at all, and sheered off instead. So I only had a head without a plug that could not be re-attached. Those were heads I did not want to re-use so I did not mind, but I have now a lose plug rolling around in the body which makes a weird noise.

So I figured better not to take my chances the next time I needed a Chakotay head, and use plan B. If you only want the head and not keep the body, you can first remove the arms from the shoulder sockets (again put them into hot water so it goes easier) and then split the body open at the seams at the sides. So the head comes out easy. Professional customers also glue it all back together in the end but I haven't done that yet.

I hope I could help! If you have further questions, I am always happy to answer them.

This next picture is not mine, I stole it from the internet:

Over the past few months, I've been photographing some of my Star Trek action figures in front of images of different environments. Here are some examples:

Diamond Select Klingons on a K'Tinga class bridge (yes, they are both Worf in Klingon garb :D)

Next, my Mego Movie-era Kirk and Spock, on the refit Enterprise bridge from TWOK and the Enterprise-A bridge from TUC:

Here's Mego Movie-era Sulu on the Excelsior Bridge from TUC:

And finally, Nemesis Picard on the Enterprise-E bridge, possible just after Nemesis, judging from the lack of any other TNG crew.

I plan on doing more in the future, and I'll share those when I get to it.

Very nice! The images are on your laptop / computer? I have seen that before but not tried myself yet. Looks really great!

I had some fun with Kayo and the wolves. I bought them specifically.

"Hey, give that back, that is my hat!"

While Kayo was busy fighting for his hat, another wolf nudged him into the back of his knees.

He was afraid for his life but they only wanted to play!

Kayo has made friends for life now.

They are so cute, they have even little paws!

And a comparison:

Sorry for the late response. Thanks everyone for the kind words! I currently don't have access to my computer so I'm typing this on my phone. In spite of my vaccine I tested positive for COVID-19 because my grandparents got it from their unvaccinated church pastor. Thankfully my grandparents were vaccinated or they'd probably be dead. As for me, I feel pretty terrible, but it could have been a lot worse.

Anyway, sorry to kill the buzz, I just wanted everyone to know I meant to post my thanks for the kind words on my dioramas. Once my quarantine is up I plan on posting more stuff!

Hope you and your grandparents are healing.

In a discussion on Twitter I learnt that in the novels set after Voyager was home, Chakotay's spirit animal was a snake.
While I always had it imagined to be a wolf (it never was said in the series) and other fans agreed with me. So, this happened.

I also have the San Diego Comic Con Two-Pack of The Grandmaster and the Collector from Guardians of the Galaxy, but haven't opened it yet.

If anyone was following me on Instagram, sorry, my account got deleted. That last story with the spirit animals did it. I uploaded all four pictures in a short time, and they say I uploaded the same thing several times and it is not allowed. I did send in a plea but doubt I will get it back.

And that after I only had some weeks ago fought off hackers who already had changed the name and the description so I changed the password and then set it that I only can log in with an extra code sent to my phone. All for nothing. I guess I could make a new account but I'm not sure I want to bother since I am already posting on Facebook, Twitter, Livejournal, Tumblr and various fan forums.

Like this one!

And I want to tell ya, Jenga is a much better game than Kal-toh!

That Jeff Goldblum sculpt is ahead of anything that's been made by competing companies for the Jurassic Park figure lines.
