Amazing work! So cool he recognized your craft!Sorry, I never thanked you guys for answering my question. I have seen the Tobey Maguire movies but it has been a long time ago so not many memories from them. I shall check them out!
I have been very busy during the past weeks. Since I became a Robert Beltran fan through watching Star Trek Voyager, I also have watched many other movies with him. "Lone Wolf McQuade" was my first Chuck Norris movie, I have no idea how I could have missed this so far. I absolutely loved it, and I loved Robert's character so much that I made this figure of Kayo. It was a lot of work but I am very proud of him!
I started with a Motion Picture Bones, as he already had the open collar that I needed.
I shortened his tunic and filled out spaces with Milliput, also forming the collar. I also switched out the arms to those from the Talosian Keeper.
I spent ages trying to mix the right skin color. The original Chakotay figure is too light, and I had to re-do it several times as he turned out too dark. Painting a face in that small scale is not easy. It is easy to screw up though. Not doing that any time soon again.
I made the shirt pockets not with Milliput but with several pieces of plastic added to each other. It gave a cleaner edge and shape.
Painting the stripes was another nightmare.
At first I had tried to use the Star Trek symbol to make into the Sheriff star but that looked too clumsy so I just printed it from a screenshot. Also the red patches on the sleeves.
The only hat I could find in my stash was this. I cut of the feather (shame! I loved it!) and painted it white. I also added the brown hat band.
I made the weapon belt from scratch as well. The belt buckle is a chain link from a keyring. I even sewed the holster with the tiniest needle I could find. I already had the gun (borrowed from Jack Harkness) and the cuffs.
I put leather around some foam rubber and then added another stripe for the flap. At the back it became a loop. All the items can be moved around on the belt.
And then I got the highest approval you can imagine!

Thanks! And yeah, I've seen that! I am collecting the 6" Amber collection, but I love this! I wonder if I should get the set just for the console it comes with.
They look like that had fun with that!

@Astra how do you do head swaps with Trek figures? I am still trying to figure out the best way.
Very nice! The images are on your laptop / computer? I have seen that before but not tried myself yet. Looks really great!Over the past few months, I've been photographing some of my Star Trek action figures in front of images of different environments. Here are some examples:
There should be more such books on toysSo I've been eying this for a while, and finally took the plunge. I hope it arrives quickly.![]()
Hope you and your grandparents are healing.Sorry for the late response. Thanks everyone for the kind words! I currently don't have access to my computer so I'm typing this on my phone. In spite of my vaccine I tested positive for COVID-19 because my grandparents got it from their unvaccinated church pastor. Thankfully my grandparents were vaccinated or they'd probably be dead. As for me, I feel pretty terrible, but it could have been a lot worse.
Anyway, sorry to kill the buzz, I just wanted everyone to know I meant to post my thanks for the kind words on my dioramas. Once my quarantine is up I plan on posting more stuff!
