The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

When I was at my local Target yesterday they had yet to begin constructing their Star Wars peg wall for Force Friday and I haven't seen the plush Chewbacca display, but I imagine they'll be up and ready over the next couple of days.

It does. Like one of the members of Wicket's tribe borrowed Chewbacca's bandolier and is going hunting with advanced weaponry.

The new X-Wing toy...

Oh, dear.

The word 'tat' springs to mind when comes to what I've seen of TFA merch so far.

I accidentally ordered two Peggy Carter Funko Pops! :guffaw: I think I'll stick the other on ebay. Might be easier than messing with amazon...

Here she is:

ETA: Ok, that was lame. I honestly don't know what I was expecting, though.

Did you notice that the Poe Dameron figure packed with his X-Wing barely even fits inside the cockpit? I can't tell you how much eyerolling I and other collectors have been doing lately when it comes to the quality and designs of so many of Hasbro's Star Wars products.

Frankly, the POTF2-era X-Wing Fighter released almost 20 years ago looks better and has a more spacious cockpit.

I'm right with you, Red Three.

As bad as it is, imagine how much worse these reveals would have been had they not 'tested the waters' with 5POA figures this past year or so.

Apparently Disney stores will be getting Star Wars Elite, a super poseable line of 7-8 inch figures that look like the 6 inch Black series only slightly larger.

The 3.75 Black series looks like it may only be showing up at Walmart.

I picked up a Marvel Legends Infinite Scarlet Spider yesterday, that comes with the "build a Rhino!" head.

I often feel bad that I have zero intentions of getting the rest, but someone out there might have a headless Rhino because of me.

Sphero's app-controlled BB-8 promo video:

For those that want to see raw video of it in action, here's a video posted by a website called Techguide:

That BB-8 might be pricey, but he might arguably be the greatest Star Wars toy of this decade. And that's saying something considering that we've gotten an electronic Millennium Falcon in a Vintage Collection box and several different AT-AT Walkers.

The Unboxing Livestream shown on YouTube was largely anticlimactic or even laughable, but it did reveal a couple of very cool things. For instance, the first images of the 6" Captain Phasma and First Order Snowtrooper figures from the Black Series.

They're scheduled for release in Wave 2.

I envy those that don't know about Bandai's figuarts line.

They're going to save a lot of money.

For those that know of figuarts. Your wallets going to cry

Upcoming figuarts. These are 5.5 inch to 6 inch highly detailed figures. They run up to 35 to 46 dollars after shipping costs

exclusives can be in the 90 dollar range

Well it's 10:15 and I'm #6 online at Target. They are stocking the shelves as I type. About 15 workers in the aisle and more just hanging around. Hearing a bunch of, how cool is this or that.

Overall a really good experience at Target, except one thing. They actually had two locations for their Star Wars:TFA toys, everyone lineup at the main one. Well all the Black Series were at the second location in seasonal. So some people in the back of the line started going there first and poached almost all the Black Series. So I got almost all that I wanted, I missed out on getting the Black Series Captain Phasma and that was the single one I wanted the most.
