The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Cool. I don't think I've actually seen the Kirk in person, just the other figures from his wave assortment. Although if I did I've since forgotten.

If only Hasbro's figures of Princess Leia could look even half that good at Hasbro retail prices. Hasbro can do amazing facial and head sculpt work at times but for some reason they have a lot of trouble with the likenesses of both Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill and that's been going on for about twenty years.

If you thought Hot Toys topped themselves when they revealed their scaled to the figures (1/6) TIE Fighter and Millennium Falcon cockpit...

They have just announced that they have made THE ENTIRE MILLENNIUM FALCON (same scale!), and will have it on display at Ani-Com and Games Hong Kong, which starts on the 24th. At 1/6 scale, it will be 18 feet long! Good lord... I imagine that has to be a record, not counting the full-size ship they use for filming.

Now, there's no word yet whether this is something that they will actually be selling to the public, or if it's just a one-off they are making just for display at events. Though I honestly can't imagine they'd be actually selling this.

If they did hypothetically decide to sell it, the price (plus the crazy shipping cost, of course) would be beyond obscene. And of course there's the matter of where exactly one would put such a thing.

The event doesn't start until tomorrow, but some pics of the display are already out. Here's one with people right next to it to give you a sense of of how big the piece of junk truly is:

A third dealer's table had the Arrow's Arrow & Canary, but the dude want $35 for each of 'em, or both for sixty. Screw that.

Some pics of Hot Toys' Star Wars and Marvel displays at Ani-Com and Games Hong Kong, including a look inside the lounge area of the Falcon, recreating that scene from ANH: link

The Marvel display features Quicksilver (Avengers version), Drax, Ant-Man, Yellowjacket and Nick Fury, among others.

I have two boxes of toy action figures from the 1990's I would be willing to part with. Pretty sure there is at least one full set in there. .

I have a photo but not sure how to post it in here ..

I'm house-sitting for my sister. She and her husband are big on boats (he grew up in Point Pleasant, NJ), so she got him this model for his birthday one year. I just realized it was Clintasha sized! So here is their new adventure...

A Marvel-Themed Ice Tray

And let's be honest, not much new product has been revealed thanks to the continuing lid that both Disney and Lucasfilm still have over many details of the new film and its licensed merchandise.
